Wednesday heralded our first MWiB executive meeting of the new Connexional year. Normally our meetings at Methodist Church House are held in one of the rooms on the lower ground floor but on this occasion we were honoured to be allocated ‘a room with a view’ on the seventh floor which enabled us to enjoy the sunshine, views across London and fresh air. We told Anne that was in honour of her last official meeting with us! Anne will end her term as Vice President/ President/ Vice President at the end of September after the Autumn Forum.
We are extremely grateful for the way in which Anne has led, encouraged and supported MWiB over the last four years. Through Anne we have built stronger links with the women of the United Methodist Church of Germany and hope to continue this into the future. Some of you may remember that Bishop Rosemarie Wenner from the UMC (now retired) was the keynote speaker at the 2017 Swanwick weekend Conference. Rosemarie is very supportive of our continuing links and we will be inviting a group of ladies from UMC Germany to visit Britain during the coming year.
In the photo above, standing on the left is our new Finance Officer Nina Rawlins. Nina has been shadowing Giilian Womersley since February and is now ready to take over the reins for the next five year term. Again we are extremely grateful for the way in which Gillian has guided us in financial matters and has ensured that we meet the requirements of the Charity Commision each step of the way.
We pray that both Anne and Gillian will feel blessed as they look back over the last few years and look forward to the next part of their journey in God’s mission.
